Khia wants to be one of Wayne’s concubines?

Posted by Tricia Status On April - 5 - 2010

So while reading hiphopwired.com I found the following quote by Khia regarding Lil Wayne:
“I’m just letting him sow all his royal oats and have fun. I’m his biggest fan…I don’t want no babies I’m gonna let them have all the babies that they want. He’s the king, he can have all the wives that he can take care of….when you have as much money as Lil Wayne and Tiger Woods you can have all the wives that you want.”

I have some questions

Is this how most women feel?
Can rich dudes do whatever they want?
Has Khia lost it?

Chris Brown: “I Can’t Be an Underground Mixtape Artist”

Posted by Tricia Status On March - 13 - 2010

If you play the audio below Chris Brown is begging for his fans to bring him back. I thought he was already back with ‘I Can Transform Ya’? I guess a few stations out there are hanging firm to their stance on domestic abuse. I almost thought you were teflon since MTV and hot 97 were playing your stuff despite Oprah standing up against you. I guess I didn’t see the whole picture.

Mainstream: Beyonce and Lady Gaga

Posted by Tricia Status On March - 12 - 2010

Hey all,

I wonder what you think about Beyonce and Lady Gaga’s new video. In my personal opinion, I’m not sure Beyonce fits that style. Its nice to see artists reach out and do new things, but I think it would’ve been more effective if it was Sasha Fierce meets Gaga. What do you think?

Cocaine Candy

Posted by Tricia Status On November - 13 - 2009

Hello,
This is a note to all parents. That candied powder that your kid might have may NOT be pixie stick candy dust. Drug dealers are now scientists who have made cocaine into tasty treats…

Coconut…Lemon…strawberry…even cinnamon!!! Dealers have now chemically changed the taste of Cocaine to draw in the youngest customers.

Check their bookbags for this! Make sure your kids aren’t getting addicted because they thought its candy.

Hip-Hop Prognosticator: Jay-Z Murder Trial Jan. 23, 2010

Posted by Shapel On July - 8 - 2009
Jay Z by NRK P3

Jay Z by NRK P3

By Sha-Os

This morning marked day three of what has been labeled the trial of the very young century. Mogul and megastar Jay-Z now has another moniker to add to his list – accused murderer. Jigga, whose real name is Sean Carter and who was recently indicted for the double-murder of hip hop stars Lil-Wayne and T-Pain, took the stand today to answer questions from a very confident prosecution. “We will prove beyond a reasonable doubt, that Jigga is a hater, who upon realizing his inability to stay relevant in an ever changing musical climate was declining, lost his mind, and committed the ultimate crime of passion. This is not to say that his criticism of the recent trend in music is without merit, but stunted innovation is not what’s on trial here. What we will prove is that Mr. Carter’s motivations for D.O.A. were not righteous indignation, but fear, and to some extent, bitchassedness. The same thing that drove him to murder. I mean seriously the guy was in the “Blame It” video, and didn’t seem to have problem with auto-tune then.”

The brutal slaying of Wayne, and T-Pizzle, rocked the Hip-Hop world, and soon turned into what many considered an indictment of hip-hop itself, as news leaked that lyrics to Jay-Z’s single D.O.A (Death of the Auto-Tune) were found scribbled throughout the slain stars’ dressing rooms. Some see the murder and subsequent trial as simply the manifestation of a rift between two growing camps of hip-hop enthusiasts. While many argue that the advent of the vocoder is merely another stage in the evolution of the genre, self-proclaimed hip-hop purists say the trend represents the departure from what were formerly necessities in music, such as talent and ability. Supreme Ali the God, leader of the rap group “ Nu-Beings” said the murder was a long time coming. “Peace God, I’m just saying it was long overdue for someone to step up, and take responsibility for our music, and cut all that sambo-in’ bullshit out. Niggahs aint even really about makin’ music no more, and I applaud righteous actions and such. Cutting off the hand that offends me and such, you feel me. Asalamalakum my niggah.”

“Really its just about artists havin’ fun, and trying to get paid” said vocoder super star Guap. “Look things change, and we just giving the people what they want. Isn’t that what art is, supplying an audience with an experience? I’m just tryin’ to do me. Do you have any idea how many ringtones I sold this month? I think that speaks for itself. Let them other non-selling ass dudes worry about sayin’ deep shit nobody want to hear. I’ma be here countin’ these ends, and lacin’ stunner shades in platinum. Jay came out of pocket, now he gotta deal with that.”

Mr. Carter’s attorney, however, maintains that his client is innocent of murder, if not a lack of integrity: “We seek to clear Mr. Carter of these scurrilous charges at once. A distinction must be made between the positions an individual actually maintains through his actions, and the positions he seemingly takes in the make-believe world of his lyrics. While the persona known as Jay-Z has recently taken a stand against the use of the Auto-tune as a diminishing of hip-hop as art form, we must remember that this is the same man that did Big-Pimpin’ , as well as continually released singles that fell far below what he is capable of lyrically. Stop taking him seriously. Its rap people, and principles are a matter of convenience. Ask Nas. Remember Oochie-Wally?”

Maybach BAN! 2011

Hip Hop Prognosticator: Maybach Ban. April 22, 2011

Maybach 57 by stephenhanafin

Maybach 57 by stephenhanafin

In response to recent E.P.A. reports, congress has passed a comprehensive ban on Maybachs due to their lack of fuel efficiency, and subsequent contribution to the Armageddon that is global warming. Hip-Hop stars across the nation have spoken out in protest, buttressed by strong support by urban blacks. Khalil Ramsey, a.k.a “Kingz Burow” was among the agitated. “I mean, really, MAYBACHS?!??! I was just put on, and you know, ‘bout to get that Maybach paper, and now this??!?! You grow up in the hood, and you’re on your grind, like one day, I’ma be sittin’ plush and whatnot, cop some 38s, and be on the block like YEAH, Y’ALL NIGGAHS THOUGHT A PIMP AINT HAD IT IN ‘IM!!! Now this??! As far as I’m concerned this is just disenfranchisement. What can a kid look forward to if not being posted up in a jet black Maybach with screens in the steering wheel???” Young Jeezy was equally nonplussed by the move. “My president is a biatch. That green shit is real wack in the game. I’m keepin’ my shit.”

Sociologist and noted academic Dr. Aria U. Sehriuss criticized the response from the Hip-Hop community but said it’s not surprising. “Environmental issues have long been neglected by the hip-hop community who find that it either has little bearing on their day-to-day lives, or falls behind other more pressing concerns that affect the black community like joblessness and education. What they don’t understand is just how much this issue is their issue. A strained ecosystem makes food production more difficult and consequently more expensive. When that costs gets bumped down to consumers, what communities do you think will be most affected? Yeah. Ours. Pollution related illnesses like asthma, rising rates of infectious diseases related to temperature increase, more and more cancer cases…these will all tax an already taxed healthcare system! Who do you think is going to get the worst of it? Sue Ellen and Todd with the comprehensive healthcare plan?! Or Tamika and Keenan in the crowded ass clinic??!! I would mention how global communities of color in developing nations get it the worst sooner than everyone but hey, since when do we care about niggers in other countries, right?? I don’t even know what to say anymore. And besides what the F*&K do we need Maybachs for anyway??? Y’all niggers be killing me with this ignorant ass shit.”

Power 105 is reportedly organizing a protest of Congress’ decision and expects a substantial turnout.

Hip Hop Prognosticator: Soulja Boy, year 2032

Encore Status: Soulja Boy

Brooklyn, New York (April 25, 2032)

Deandre Ramone Ray aka the now legendary Soulja Boy received the lifetime achievement award last night at the annual B.E.T. Awards.

The Rapper/Dancer/ Mogul who arrived on the hip-hop scene with his critically acclaimed “Crank That” in 2007 was recognized for his contribution to the ringtone, a genre for which he is now regarded as a pioneer. Mr. Ray, now C.E.O. and President of Swagulous Records, was humbled by the honor. “You just doing ya thing one day, and ya know, ya boys are like, son that whats up, and ya like word, Uhhhhn. Turn my swag on, and the next thing you know, ya blowin up and whatnot, word.”

Ray, who retired officially from rapping, or whatever that was, in 2013, released three platinum albums in a span of 6 weeks, a feat that has since only been topped by his protégés Stax and Maf , the duo responsible for “Stax dat Maf,”Genie Rub,” and “ Swag dem Wallz.” Ray has produced such now definitive acts as Ho-sefina, G-Swag the AY-rab, and $$$. Soulja Boy made hip-hop magic by completely abandoning the outdated notion of “rhyming” and skipped right into establishing his swagger in vague but apparently legitimate terms. His final album “Swagger Daggers: How da Genius Cutz the Game” is now heralded as one of the great hip hop opuses of the early 21st.

During Souja’s acceptance speech one troubled man referring to himself as a “backpacker” threw a Nas Mixtape, as well as a pair of Adidas Shell Toes at the stage screaming “ Sucka Ass Emcees Killed Hip Hop!!! Bling Bling BOO!! Bling Bling BOOOOOO!! The man has since been identified as former sorta important person, Dante Terrel Smith, formerly known as Mos-Def. Mr Ray however, recovered gracefully and responded on stage “ I aint do nothing to em, But count this money, and put ma team on, now my whole click stunning.”

Mos was subsequently unavailable for comment

Trick or not to Trick

Posted by Tricia Status On April - 5 - 2009

In my experiences with the dating scene, I have learned to attract the opposite sex using the gift of gab, to always stay sharp and say the right things to entice the opposite sex. Nothing could drive a woman’s imagination more than a man’s ability to spit some good game. That’s why it bothers me a bit when I see my brothers in the club spending and wasting money on women who they have only known for so long. Whether you are buying drinks or making it rain to get a woman to talk to you, such acts are classic examples of trickin’.

What is trickin’, you may ask?
Well, UrbanDictionary.com gives the following definition:

trickin’ (v): To splurge on large gifts for a girl or boy that you like but don’t know very well.
To me, using money to get what you want out from women is bad enough. It is even worse that now many influential music artists are now perpetuating to this phenomenon. The following are excerpts from some of the more recent hit songs rap and R&B songs:

“Like yeahhh, and everyone say it/
Mr. Rain Man can we have a rainy day/
Bring an umbrella, please bring an umbrella/
Ella, Ella, Ella, EH /
Bitch ain’t shit but a hoe and a trick/
But you know it ain’t trickin’ if you got it”
Lil’ Wayne – “Got Money”

“Shawty, you the hottest/
Love the way you drop it/
Brain so good, coulda swore you went to college/
100K deposits, vacations in the tropics/
Everybody know it ain’t trickin’ if you got it”
T.I. – “Whatever You Like”

“I can put you in the log cabin/
somewhere in Aspen/
Girl ain’t nothing to the Pain/
it aint trickin if you got it/
what you askin’….for”
T-Pain – “Can’t Believe It”

“I like to trick trick trick/
I like to trick (trick) trick/
I wanna spend some money, spend some money/
I like to trick, I like to trick”
Ray-J – “I Like to Trick”

Music has been so influential in promoting many of society’s vices, with this “It ain’t trickin’ if you got it” movement coming on the rise. It is funny that these artists have the means to “trick” of their money, while a vast majority of their fans and listeners don’t. I can ramble on about my thoughts on the topic, but the purpose of this post is to get your opinion about the topic. Please feel free to post your opinion, for it is humbly appreciated.

To trick or not to trick – that is the question.
