Crocheted Headphones

Posted by Tricia Status On February - 28 - 2011

Saw these headphones in INC magazine and just had to share. If you live on the East Coast, winter is NOT over, and we may need a pair of these to warm up. They are crocheted headphones and can be found on a site called Uncommon Goods. According to to the site:

Warm up to new music with these charming, nubby headphones. Handmade by artist Traci Medeiros-Bagan, its sweet design recalls vintage crochet with a modern twist: beneath its yarn are high-tech headphones ready to plug into your on-the-go playlist. Highly unique and practical, you’re sure to stand out from the crowd with your taste in musical gear. Handmade in California.

Please check out the site and purchase them today if you like them!

Must Try: GetGobbler Music Production organizer

Posted by Tricia Status On February - 24 - 2011

So I work with a producer who makes way too many songs a day, and doesn’t have a formal way to organize his productions. Digital music news reported today that a new production organizing platform called Get Gobbler was released. They described it as “Dropbox on steroids for musicians.” I went to the GetGobbler website where they explained:

Just set it and forget it. Never lose a project again.

Gobbler knows when you’re working on a project. It automatically detects and backs up changes to the cloud as they happen so you never lose data. You can even go back in time to restore an earlier version of your work.

Whether your project is on a local hard drive or an external one, Gobbler will make sure that it’s backed up – even if you move the drive between different computers.

If you are a producer that needs help organizing your work, try this. Let me know if it works for you!

Must Wear: Encore Dunk Highs

Posted by Tricia Status On February - 17 - 2011

Thanks to the good salespeople at Nike Town in NYC, I was able to design the Encore Dunk Highs. Truthfully: @MickeyFactz has been pulling off gold kicks for years. I have no doubt I’ll be turning heads in these gold metallics, just as he has.

Colombian Pop Princess – Paola

Posted by Tricia Status On February - 15 - 2011

So recently, Encore Status has been on a pop kick — which to be honest, will be a permanent addiction. We’ll be covering not just hip hop but pop as well… Last week we went to Europe and featured Charleena Maughan. Today we have our eye on the Colombian princess, Paola. Born in Bogata Colombia, Paola was influenced by her mother, a guitarist, and father, a Latin radio host/artist. Following in their footsteps, shes making listeners pay attention in the underground pop scene. The lovely Paola also is an actress, a dancer, and a major print model. Follow her on twitter @Paolamusik to get updates on her shows. Listen to her track below!

Lipstick Fell – Charleena Maughan

Posted by Tricia Status On February - 9 - 2011

Charleena’s music can be described in 3 words, “electric,” “fresh,” and “WOW”.  This young artist from the UK caught my attention with her track “Queen of the Town.” After looking more into her music, I quickly fell in love with “LipStick Fell“. Lipstick Fell is in rotation in the UK and Ireland and should definitely be in rotation for any DJ in the electronic pop scene in the US. Its think her music will be popular amongst teens in the states once they get a piece of this European queen.

The Britt ish is Coming!!!

Posted by Tricia Status On February - 2 - 2011

I’m kinda of late but I finally got a chance to listen to the EP ‘The Britt ish Is Coming.’ The project featured Warren Britt (clever album name right?). We first saw Warren Britt perform at the Soapstone Gallery in August. He made us realize that everyone better watch out for him as he assisted Final Outlaw in the song Check Your Radar.

The Britt ish Is Coming is a solid album that made me gain a better understanding of the kind of artist Warren Britt is. He is eclectic — showcasing multiple lyrical styles. He’s a fantastic story teller. His lyrics and delivery made me believe we were at a party…talking to a shorty…etc… Speaking about delivery, I think Warren did an great job speed spitting. He speed spat in his intro and in numerous parts of EP using words that would have me tongue tied.

All in all, I say download or Stream it now.

M.A.S.H: Me I Get It In

Posted by Tricia Status On February - 1 - 2011

Our peeps from M.A.S.H the Media keep impressing us with the quality of music that comes out of their camp. If you didn’t know, M.A.S.H. created the intro song we use on our television show (Click here to see show). With ‘Me I Get It In’ they have team up with Texas natives Yung Texxus and Wreckamic, they really show their versatility. Jay-Z crushed the southern beat of the single ‘H.A.M.,’ and now M.A.S.H smashed ‘Me I Get It In.’ Looking forward to more artists from the Northeast experimenting with Southern Beats.
