This weekend’s weather forecast could make any mid-Atlantic resident wish they had a little extra budgeted for a tropical getaway. For those a day late and a dollar short, we have some music that will help you dance away those winter blues and get you through the weekend. The playlist comes courtesy of Solstice, an Ithaca, New York based band, led by vocalist Elisa Sciscioli.
Their four track set list leads with the seductively smooth track “Red Sky.” It tempts your tapping foot into a two step and gets you moving. Don’t worry If you wore yourself out during the sax break in the title track. “Longing for You” slows it down a bit and lets you really focus on how tight this group of musicians sounds just after two years together. “Mystified” keeps you moving with an undeniable swing that cools out in the middle with a splash of flute and sax. If by now you haven’t bought their album, also titled Red Sky, “Who You Are” should help you make up your mind.
It’s not too late to head over to CD Baby! or iTunes to pick up their album Red Sky. Search ‘Elisa Sciscioli’ in the iTunes store to find it. We encourage you to grab a hot drink, a hot date, put this on replay and stay warm this weekend.
