Besides it’s many achievements and reputation, Harlem is also known for the rappers that come outs of it, holding that NY swagger but that get down and dance a little beat. Harlem rappers are well needed in this game and thank god this new artist is here & hopefully will stay. Tony Stanz’s is doing his thing! Tony shared the stage with major names like Big Pun, Eminem, M.O.P. at Lyricist Lounge in 1998.
Tony don’t speak about hustling, or gangs in his lyrics, he has expressed that he doesn’t speak on things that never happened to him, he’s an emcee and not afraid to admit he’s a grown ass man. Now a days, people are in desperate need for rappers that are real, we all know a lot of rappers feed their audience a whole lot of lies, wouldn’t you rather relate to a rapper because of the truth? I would, and with songs like “My girl” that can be played on the radio and loved by everyone to songs like “one” and “live no more” that lyrically acclaimed fan would enjoy.
One thing I love about this artist is that he talks about everything. He got a song on his album which is titled I do this, that is called “whip me with a strap” that talks about growing up and the way of being punished by his mother. Funny right? But honestly you can find some way to relate to the song and place it on your play list easy. His track “The game I Play” is a fun song that would have you dancing and mimicking the words because his lyrics is just that catchy. I can honestly say his cd was interesting, edgy, catchy and made me stand up and do the heel toe. Haha, no lie! You don’t believe me? Then you take a listen yourself, check him out at tonystanz.com and you tell me what you think.
